Our Story & Legacy
Founded in 1972, Virginia Taekwondo Institute began as a small dojo committed to preserving the traditional art of Taekwondo while adapting it to modern life. What started as a passion for one family has grown into a trusted community hub where thousands of students — from young children to seniors — have trained, earned black belts, and built lifelong character.
We are proud to be a family-run school, which means personal attention, consistency in instruction, and a warm, supportive environment that feels like home. Many of our instructors trained right here under previous generations, carrying forward the same high standards and dedication.
